Which rules apply to your employment?

Confirm the number of unused days first

Request the full leave ledger showing opening balance, accrual, leave taken, carry-forward, adjustments and the closing balance through the last working day.

Federal leave at termination

Article 29 provides payment for accrued leave days not used before employment ends, calculated according to basic wage under the federal framework.

ADGM is different

ADGM payment in lieu of vacation leave uses its Daily Wage methodology. For a five-day working week, the calculator uses annual total wage divided by 260 working days.

Partial-year accrual

Check whether leave accrued through the final part of the service year and whether any approved or cancelled leave request changed the balance.

Keep leave separate from salary and notice

Unused leave payment should appear as its own line. It should not be blended into final salary or used to offset notice without a clear, recorded arrangement.
