Which rules apply to your employment?

Your employer’s legal registration matters more than the city where you work.

Government employees, domestic workers, pension-enrolled UAE/GCC nationals and unsupported free-zone cases need a different review. Not sure which path applies?

Confirm ADGM coverage

Use the ADGM calculator when the employer and employment documents are governed by ADGM Employment Regulations. An Abu Dhabi office address alone is not enough.

ADGM gratuity basis

ADGM gratuity uses 21 days' Basic Wage for each of the first five years and 30 days thereafter. Annual basic wage is divided by 365.

Apply the 50% wage floor

For the gratuity calculation, annual basic wage cannot be less than 50% of annual Wages. The calculator compares the entered basic and total wage to apply this floor.

Calculate unused vacation separately

The ADGM leave field uses annual total Wage divided by the applicable working-day denominator, with five days per week producing a 260-day basis.

Review the termination-payment timeline

ADGM guidance generally refers to termination payments within 21 calendar days. Keep any disputed claim separate from undisputed salary, vacation and gratuity amounts.
