Transparent formulas, explicit assumptions, visible sources

1. Jurisdiction comes first

The tools separate federal private-sector employment, ADGM and DIFC. They do not automatically treat every free-zone employee as federally covered or apply one gratuity formula to every worker.

2. Statutory and user-entered amounts remain separate

Gratuity and verified wage bases are calculated. Bonuses, commissions, reimbursements, repatriation and deductions remain clearly marked as user-entered or contract-dependent values.

3. Wage bases are not interchangeable

Traditional federal gratuity, unused leave and notice compensation can use different wage concepts. ADGM and DIFC use their own definitions and methods. Each result explains the basis applied.

4. Rounding and service dates

Intermediate calculations retain precision and displayed amounts are rounded to two fils. Service is estimated from calendar dates, with entered unpaid absence removed where the selected rule requires it.

5. Source hierarchy

We prioritise legislation, official government portals, regulator guidance and official scheme material. Secondary explanations are not used as the authority for calculator rules. The official source register lists the materials currently referenced.

6. Guide-writing standard

Guides are written around a defined employee question, identify the correct jurisdiction, avoid presenting disputed claims as automatic entitlements, include practical evidence checks and link back to the relevant calculator and primary sources.

7. Change control

A calculator-rule change requires an official source, formula update, automated test, public changelog entry and new deployment. Content pages are also reviewed when an official source changes or a new employment-exit process becomes relevant.

8. Limitations

The site does not decide disputed facts, interpret an entire contract, determine whether a deduction or dismissal is lawful, predict court compensation, or replace advice from the relevant authority or a qualified professional.
