Check the work permit and contract
Identify the issuing authority, employer legal registration and the law named in the employment contract.
Do not copy ADGM or DIFC rules
ADGM and DIFC have their own employment frameworks. Their calculators should not be used for another free zone merely because the employer is in a free zone.
Ask the free-zone authority about complaints
Some free-zone complaints are referred through authority and MOHRE processes. MOHRE provides a service for free-zone establishments and similar organisations in relevant cases.
Use federal formulas only when supported
If the employment is governed by the federal private-sector framework, use the federal calculation path. Otherwise obtain the correct rule set before calculating.
Questions to ask HR or payroll
- Who issued the work permit?
- What legal entity employs me?
- Which law or authority is named in the contract?
- Does the employer participate in a savings scheme?
- Which complaint service accepts this employment type?
Frequently asked questions

Are ADGM and DIFC the same?
No. They are separate jurisdictions with different employment and end-of-service systems.
